Following a long period of advocacy and civic engagement, the Counseling Line for Women and Girls contributed to the drafting and promotion of the initiative to create the “National Registry of Convicted Sexual Offenders”.
This initiative, supported by over 22,000 citizen signatures and submitted to Parliament, is now a reality and functions through the e-Albania platform.
The registry allows for the identification of individuals convicted of sexual crimes, contributing to the prevention of repeat offenses and increasing safety, especially for children and vulnerable groups.
This achievement represents a major step toward strengthening protection mechanisms and bringing Albania closer to European human rights standards.
