Yesterday, the Albanian Parliament Approved the Law for the Creation of a PUBLIC Registry for Sexual Offenders with 124 Votes in Favor.

In six months, every citizen, concerned parent, and educational institution will be able to access the data of these sexual predators in the registry, which serves as an essential tool for monitoring and prevention.

Today, as Mateo’s killer, the young boy from Fier, faces the court to answer for his crimes, the 22,000 citizens who signed the petition, the 28 civil society organizations, and the legal experts who voluntarily initiated and drafted the law know that the registry they supported will become a reality with the power to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
